'Cleopatra's Needle' as viewed from the lounge window:
Locally known as Cleopatra's Needle, this tall obelisk in Calton Cemetery is actually a public funded memorial to five unfortunate men unlawfully transported to Australia for daring to promote votes for ordinary people.
Tip: If possible don't bring the car. You really don't need it unless you are planning to go further afield and like any city center parking can become a bit of an irritation. If the car is a must you can normally find metred parking just outside the apartment . Also, night time and Sunday street parking is free, but not on double yellow lines. It's always best to check the street signs.
